TRACK

Although the season is almost done, I have so far had a really good first year of high school track & field. I am on varsity shot put, discus, 100 meter dash and the 4x100 meter relay team! Plus I have won shot put three times now and am the best on the team. Not bad for a freshman, huh? Shown in the picture is me preparing to throw discus in my first high school competition, but this was a bad day for me and everyone there. My school is attending the Shoreline Invitational, perhaps the biggest invite of the entire season, next weekend. I'm hoping I qualify and get my shot put distance up so I can go and win state!!! Wish me luck, readers!

UTTABRALA

UTTABRALA is the state mat crew team of Tahoma wrestlers grades 8-12. The team name is an achronym that stands for "United Towel Tapping And Bout Running Associational League of America." I was one of the first eighth graders to be a part of the team last year but was not a part this year (an eighth grader beat me out for the spot this year. So sad :'(. ) However I do not plan on being on the team next year since I will be the 2010 Washington 285 state champion!

MR. 300

So a couple weeks ago, March if I'm not mistaken, was one of the most memorable moments in my life. I broke the Tahoma Junior High record for the bench press getting 300 pounds! Not only did I get it, but I broke the school record of 275 pounds previously set by myself. Soon after I set it, I kept joking saying things like "This is SPARTA!" and I've gotten a lot of attention from the other kids at school. My next goal is 325 and I'm working hard in and out of the weight room to acheive that.
